Viatecla's T21 COMmunity was one of the best digital solutions with social impact considered for the worldwide shortlist of the World Summit Awards in 2019.
This social project, included in the Erasmus+ programme, has as its main goal to promote social inclusion and employability of young Down Syndrome European citizens through tourism and e-skills.
An international collaboration with Escola Superior de Educação de Santarém and 2 Italian and Croatian associations dedicated to the inclusion of Down Syndrome citizens, T21 COMmunity represented Portugal as one of the best practices solution in digital content in the Learning & Education category of the WSA.
Unfortunately, T21 COMmunity did not make it to the finals of the World Summit Awards Global Congress in Vienna 2020 but nonetheless, it was an honour to have been selected from hundreds of applications from over 178 countries and making it to the shortlist, thus allowing to improve the quality of life of 5.4 million of people worldwide.
Congratulations to all the finalists of the World Summit Awards!
